Diamonds no longer a girl’s best friend

An Oxygen Network study of the 15-49 age range, "Girls Gone Wired", has shown that in the US that technology is a girl’s best friend. Here are some more details from the study:

  • On average women own 6.6 technology devices, compared to men owning 6.9 devices.
  • 77% of women surveyed prefered a new plasma TV to a diamond necklace.
  • 56% of the women would prefer a plasma TV to a Florida vacation.
  • 86% of women would prefer a new digital video camera to a pair of designer shoes.
  • 80% of the women felt comfortable with technology, with 46% doing their own computer trouble-shooting.

No longer should women be ignored in the technology world!

Australian farmers using internet cattle monitoring

Farmers in Australia are beginning to use remote monitoring of farm gates and cattle, with security alerts sent to their phones whenever anyone goes through those gates.
